Dermal Needling using the MicroPen at Estrella Aesthetics & Surgical Arts in Corona Ca.
Micropen is safer and more effective than traditional needle rollers, because of its vertical orientation to the skin. It also has a superior effect on skin rejuvenation by harnessing the body’s natural reparative processes along with the production or both collagen and elastin fibers.
MicroPen is superior to other powered dermal needling devices because:
- faster, 8500 rpm’s (compared to Dermapen at 5500 rpm’s & Rejuvapen at 5000 rpm’s)
- Increase speed makes procedure less painful and shorter duration of treatment
- Only pen with teflon tips to prevent contamination
- No power cord, a 4 hour battery makes the treatment free from a power cord hitting your face
The procedure can be performed rapidly with minimal discomfort. When used alone, the natural collagen production rivals that of IPL (intense pulsed light) and some chemical peels with rare side effects and little downtime (1-2 days). The Micropen produces a dermal injury by making small punctures that can be set between 0.25 and 2.5 mm’s deep.
The Indications for using the Micropen alone are:
- Skin rejuvenation
- Skin tightening
- Scar improvement
- Stretch mark improvement
- Improved skin color and texture
The most common use of the Micropen is in concert with microdermabrasion and either the topical application of platelet rich plasma (PRP) known by some as the Vampire (Ageless) Facial or with the intradermal injection of the PRP, known as the Vampire (Ageless) Facelift.
