The most significant advantage of the Vampire Facial™ it that it does not involve the use of any dermal filler products. This natural, non-invasive procedure is ideal for people who want a gradual, but noticeable improvement for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, skin discolorations and luminosity of their skin. The Vampire Facial derives its name from the process of utilizing the patient’s own blood to maintain the appearance of eternal youth. The doctor draws three phials of blood from the patient. The three phials of blood are spun in a centrifuge for 20 minutes, separating it into different components, as well as concentrating the platelets. The patient’s face is then anaesthetized with an anesthetic cream.

The Vampire Facial is a designer procedure in which the body’s own platelet rich plasma (PRP) is used to re-energize cells and boost collagen production allowing one to embrace aging gracefully. PRP is first applied topically to the skin followed by aeration of the skin with a DermaPen, a process in which the skin is perforated with near microscopic holes, which allows for the PRP to be delivered transdermally. Platelets in your blood naturally contain large amounts of growth factors that retain the ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Platelets also perform a significant role in blood vessel formation, the cellular division of fibroblasts (the most common cells in connective tissue), and in synthesizing hyaluronic acid (a common ingredient found in most dermal filler products).The growth factors contained in the PRP re-energize cells to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin’s tone and texture. Following the DermaPen treatment a second layer of PRP is applied to the treatment area promoting maximum benefit. While this treatment has more social downtime than the Vampire FaceLift due to potential bruising, patients are pleased to see the overall tone, texture and quality of their skin is greatly improved. Improvement of skin texture and tone can be noticeable within 3 weeks and improvement continues for the next 8 months as more collagen and elastin is built under the skin. The striking results characteristically last 2 years or longer.
