Laser Skin Resurfacing
ESTRELLA AESTHETICS & SURGICAL ARTS
Dear Prospective Patient,
Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding facial rejuvenation using a fractionated carbon dioxide laser
skin resurfacing. Adding topical platelet rich plasma yields a more rapid recovery and superior skin outcome.
I completed a residency and fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. I am quadruple board certified
including the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) and achieved the highest score on both
the oral examinations for the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of
Cosmetic Surgery. I was a Clinical Professor at Stanford University Medical Center for seven years after fellowship
training & currently Adjunct Professor of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at Touro University, College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The DOT fractional CO2 skin resurfacing laser device, which I am a physician trainer, has been shown in a direct,
side by side comparison, published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal of the top ten fractional lasers to be the best
skin resurfacing laser in the world today. (Waibel J, et al. Preliminary Observations on Fractional Ablative Resurfacing
Devices: Clinical Impressions. J Drugs in Dermatology 2009;8(5):481-485).
Laser Skin Therapy or Laser Skin Resurfacing offers fast and affordable results with only mild discomfort under
topical anesthesia augmented with facial trigeminal nerve blocks. The laser improves your skin’s appearance by
reducing and even eliminating wrinkles, lines, areas of pigmentation or age spots (solar elastosis), and surgical
and acne scarring.According to the president of DEKA North America, it is the largest study in the United States.
The overall patient satisfaction rate in 200 consecutive patients was 96%. Most patients (90%) required one
treatment, 7% needed two treatment sessions and only 3% three treatment sessions, to achieve the patient’s
satisfaction with the skin outcome.
It is mildly uncomfortable during the procedure (3 out of 10 in pain scale), less than 1% of patients need narcotics
after the treatment day. There is mild swelling for 4-5 days, skin dryness resulting in 3-5 day duration of skin peeling
and two to three weeks of mild pink hue to the skin. This rapid recovery allows patients to return to the normal daily
activities as soon as possible, with no to minimal skin scabbing and without compromising the outcome. Woman may
wear makeup in 4-5 days after the procedure.
During your initial free consultation, we will discuss your concerns. I have Laser Skin Resurfacing before and after photos
and an educational video at www.EstrellaAesthetics.com for you to review. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely & Respectfully,
Robert J Troell, MD, FACS
